Dr. György received his M.D. degree at the Semmelweis Medical School in Budapest, Hungary, where he also completed his Ph.D. studies in molecular genetics. He became a Harvard Society Fellow in gene therapy at Harvard Medical School and at the Massachusetts General Hospital, USA.He is also Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Basel.
